Item Maintenance spec update

We’re pleased to announce that MP_Maintenance spec versions 5.0.20250612-15_17_48 and 5.0.20250605-14_26_25 have been refreshed. As part of this update, the SKU attribute has been reinstated as a mandatory field.

If your integration currently relies on either of these versions, we strongly advise transitioning to the latest specification version 5.0.20250828-17_32_59 to ensure continued compatibility and optimal performance.

Failure to update your schema may result in processing disruptions. We encourage all integrated partners to review the revised specifications and implement the necessary changes promptly.

Collectible attribute updates

We’ve updated the attributes for Collectibles to improve accuracy for graded items and trading cards. These changes apply to Marketplace sellers and integrators setting up Collectible items. By aligning attribute inputs with industry standards, the updates reduce ambiguity, enhance search relevance, and improve overall catalog quality.

What changed

  • Certificate number now accepts a single value per item and must be a long integer, supporting values up to 100 digits in length. This field represents a unique identifier assigned to a certificate by a professional grading company and is used for tracking and validation purposes. Example: 12345.
  • Trading card number accepts alphanumeric values up to 20 digits in length. This value identifies the unique number printed on the collectible, as assigned by the card manufacturer. For example, a Pokémon card labeled #25 is the 25th card in that set, or a card showing 23/100 indicates the 23rd card in a set of 100.
  • Collectible population count accepts integer values up to 14 digits, ranging from 1 to 99999999999999. Also known as pop count, this is the total number of cards submitted and graded by a grading company for a specific type and grade. A low population count often indicates rarity and higher value. This metric is commonly used for trading cards, comic books, and other collectibles sold in large sets. For example, 3400

Action needed

Update your item setup specifications to match the new attributes and limits.

Appliance item setup and maintenance update

Sellers must provide additional attribute information when setting up or editing major Appliance items. These updates improve item clarity and help customers make informed purchase decisions. This ensures greater transparency and a more seamless shopping experience.

Item setup

If one or more required attributes are missing during item setup, the API returns an error response that includes the name(s) of the missing attribute(s).
To resolve the error, inspect the response payload, identify the missing fields, and update your request accordingly.

Item maintenance

Appliance attributes can be updated during the item maintenance flow if needed.

Required action

To prevent setup failures and ensure compatibility with current workflows, update your API implementations to match the latest specifications published in the Item spec reporting and version table.

Restored Condition Types

We’ve completed a major Item spec update to ensure all 2,400 product types (PTs) eligible for the Restored program are now properly configured with the correct Condition Types. This applies to all 3P channels: WFS Setup, WFS Convert, and MP Setup.

  • All Restored program-eligible PTs now support the full set of Restored conditions:
    • Restored: Premium, Restored: Like New, Restored: Good, Restored: Fair
  • These condition names are now standardized across the UI and item spec.

Item spec requirements update for Fashion and Toys

We’ve lowered the requirement level for selected attributes in the new Item spec to remove onboarding blockers for strategic sellers in Fashion and Toys. 102 attributes across 78 product types are now marked as Recommended instead of Required, allowing items to be published without them. This update streamlines the item setup process while maintaining data quality guidance.

The change applies to MP Setup, WFS Setup, and WFS Convert in Omni Spec 5.0.

Refer to the diff reports in the Item spec reporting and version table to review the attribute requirement changes in detail.

Few example product types and attributes that were updated to Recommended:

  • Athletic Jackets: Jacket Style
  • Handbags: Drop Length
  • Messenger & Shoulder Bags: Drop Length
  • Outerwear Coats: Clothing Weight

Impact

  • Sellers: New submissions will not be blocked if these fields are missing. However, provide Recommended attributes whenever available to improve findability and conversion.
  • Integrators: Update any client-side validations or templates that flagged these fields as mandatory.
  • Existing items: No change. No republishing required.
